Christmas Looms...

Like my shadow, Christmas is looming before me -- t-minus 24 days. Let's just say -- I'm not ready. I'm so not ready I don't even know what ready is going to look like this year and to be honest it's putting me in a bit of a Grinchy mood.
To set the record straight I used to be a person who LOVE D Christmas. But these last few years, I don't know. It's stressful, and difficult, and this years financial trouble isn't helping. I am not even sure if we will have a vehicle yet on Christmas, and frankly the thought that we may miss the Christmas lights, the trips to see Santa, the drives in the country with the carols, the ice skating.... it is not improving my Scrooge-like demeanor. If the kids were young enough not to to notice I might skip the whole thing until January.
As it is, I am going to try and force myself into the spirit anyway. The goal is to get out what decorations we have today, (remember we don't have a tree yet due to the great basement flood of 2010) I officially start the holiday music tomorrow (December 1) as well as the kids advent forest. If I fake it long enough, maybe I will feel it right? At least enough to look up from the shadow every now and again?

It's all in your head.

Or, on it as the case may be. Are these not the funnest hats you've ever seen? They were my BEST Black Friday score of the year and the little boys are in LOVE with them. (Buy one, get one free, PLUS 30% off the entire store, plus my stacked coupon for an extra 20%) So, not a Christmas gift.... but still a fabulous deal. What has been your greatest steal this year?

Top Ten For Black Friday Shoppers

Okay so it's 4:09 p.m. and if you haven't headed out yet odds are you have decided to batten down the hatches and avoid the glorious adrenaline filled rush of blatant consumerism that can only be Black Friday. It can also only be American, my Canadian and British friends do NOT understand this phenomena, there is something about the comradery of the crowd outside a big box store at three, four in the morning, our bellies still filled with turkey, our eye on the prize.

As what I would call a veteran of the Black Friday shopping wars, (I was there for the great Target double door disaster of 2007, as well as the blizzard of '05) I would like to offer a few tips in case you were thinking about joining me in the year's greatest retail pursuit next year.

They are in no particular order:

1. STRATEGIZE, STRATEGIZE, STRATEGIZE. Know well in advance of heading out just what your after. Websites like http://bfads.net will leak the Black Friday sales ads of any retailer worth hitting days, typically WEEKS in advance. Go ahead -- sign up now - they'll email you next fall as new ads become available.

2. SHOP IN STORE CLUSTERS. Once you've scoured the ads and know exactly what you want, map out where you'll go -- try and get as many stores near to each other as possible, and pay attention to the store opening times. Time spent driving back and forth across town is time wasted my friend. I shop in two sections -- end of town A, then end of town B.

3. RECOGNISANCE IS NOT JUST FOR THE MILITARY. So go ahead and send out the calvary. It's no secret that MOST Black Friday stores are closed Thanksgiving so head out for once last trip Wednesday night -- after all, you probably forgot the t.p. or the rolls or something anyway. Take this opportunity to wander the aisles at your favorite store, MANY times door buster items are not in their traditional location and you don't want to be wasting time looking for those displays in the morning. By 6 p.m. Thanksgiving Wednesday doorbuster displays are going up so keep your eye out. Also more and more stores are putting maps of the weird locations right out on their website -- Target will pass them out in line outside!

4. If you will be waiting outside for a store to open (which in all likelihood you will be spending at least SOME time outside) dress in layers. This is worth repeating: DRESS IN LAYERS. IT may be 20 degrees outside and windy but inside you will be hot and sweaty. Dress in layers that are easy to shed, but also easy to carry.

5. CARRY YOUR WALLET ON YOUR PERSON. A purse, in a mad crowd is just asking to be stolen, dropped, or caught on something. When you are reaching through a fixated crowd for the last $3 electric chopper on the shelf you don't want your Coach handbag catching on a nearby display of Grandpa slippers and taking you down. Besides, in the end your purse becomes just one more thing to carry. Take my word for it -- leave it at home. For that matter, unless it's necessary for communication leave your cell at home too. (Or at least in the car -- no one you know is up at 3 a.m. unless they are also Black Fridaying it and if they are I promise -- they aren't calling you. Odds are you won't be able to hear on it anyway.

6. THE UGLY TRUTH ABOUT BEST BUY. Here's the thing about Best Buy, it's not for the weak at heart. Black Friday confession #1,347: I will not go to Best Buy on Black Friday. It is rarely, if ever worth my time, and here's why: If you must go to Best Buy be prepared to wait. For that matter,be prepared to camp. Yes, there will be people in line with tents, ice shantys (yes I saw ice shantys) and RVs in the parking lot. You will miss your entire thanksgiving dinner and the entire night afterward in line. And that is only the beginning of the wait. Because Best Buy cashier stations are so clogged by the never ending onslaught of warranty and replacement offers at the lane within minutes of store opening the check line will wrap throughout the entire retail location and unlike at other stores, where the line moves at a refreshing pace considering -- at Best Buy you WILL be in line a minimum of 3 1/2 to 4 hours. I do not kid, thus ending any chance you have of hitting any other door buster deal that day. Rarely is a delve into electronic hell worth that kind of hassle, but if you do decide to brave it, know ahead of time that it will be your ONLY stop.

7. SHOP WITH A FRIEND. When at all possible, go with a friend or two. Enough friends to have a place holder in line, but not so many that you get burdened down getting everyone coordinated. It's fun to have company as you inevitable contemplate your insanity for attempting the mission, it's fun to have someone to create a protective shield of elbows as you reach beneath that slow person's legs for the last $6 Barbie. But to many people in the group create chaos so keep it to a few, or be prepared to separate and meet up later. Also, holding a place in the checkout lane for a few friends is a well accepted practice, holding a place for nine is not. ;)

8. AVOID THE CART. It's a hindrance, it will create more space between you and what you want and let's face reality here: You will not be able to move anywhere. There is simply no room in the Black Friday aisles for carts, or strollers, or buggy like shopping carts (think at Kohls) Grab what you need, and head to the check out -- it's a common site to see fellow shoppers playing "video game chair soccer" as they use there feet to shuffle the giant boxed chair toward the checkout. This is a good time to have a friend in play -- if you have a co-shopper once your "must haves" are in hand let someone grab a cart, a buggy, an empty display case and hold all the "stuffs: in line. But be sure to get the cart holder's list so you can grab the items he or she may be forfeiting to play guard to all you stuff -- other shoppers may or may not respect the boundary of your cart so keep hot items at the bottom and an eye on the cart.

9. MAKE USE OF YOUR LINE TIME. Inevitably no matter how well planned the store is, you'll be spending time in line, and those line usually wrap through the entire store. So grab the hot deals you have to have, head to the back of the serpent like line and feel free to keep shopping -- passing a sweater that looks great for Aunt Sue at a fab price, make a tower of your doorbusters lean out and snag it. Passing through the health and beauty section at Target -- do a mental check -- no one needs deodorant or toothpaste right? After all, you're there you may as well!

10. Most importantly remember to HAVE FUN. It's the shop-a-holic's Christmas and they're out in full force. Everybody loves a bargain, and everybody hates a jackass. ;) Yes the lines are long, yes the stores are crowded, and no -- you can't get there an hour after they open and get the hottest door buster in the place. You knew this going in, so don't complain about it now. Black Friday shoppers, despite their reputation for bar style brawls, and torch bearing mobs are some of the nicest people I have ever encountered at the mall. Sure they're crazy and they know it. :) Just don't get between them and the $2 DVDs.

Twas The Night Before Thanksgiving...

What I am most thankful for.

and all through out Meijers I clutched what appeared to be the very last container of non fat free whipped topping in all the land.

I walked with much care, as my back was quite sore.

For corn, and potatoes, and gravy galore.

I braved all the crowds, the weather, the lines,

for pie, rolls, and stuffing, they all would be mine.

Today I will rest, in medicated bliss,

While Jason roasts turkey, a chore I won't miss.

:)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Remember.... where the stretchy waist pants! ;)

Wednesday Why's.... and a PSA

Why is it that boys of all ages end up sleeping with their hands down their pants? Seriously I have found all of my sons doing this at far to young an age for it to be ... um.. what you are thinking. ;) Are really afraid it's gonna fall off? Disappear? Is it just comforting to hold? What the heck?! ! comes to mind....

Why is that I am expected to stay on top of school, the housework, and get the kids dressed and presentable but when I am out and off duty can't be expected to do any ONE of these things, let alone all of them?

Why does my fashion forward eight year old, spend 30 minutes picking out her clothes and then refuse to brush her hair? Seriously. You had to have just the right t-shirt but the rat's nest on your head is okay?!

Why does the Butterball turkey at $1.69 a pound taste SOOOOO much better than the Meijer turkey at 49 cents a pound? In my heart I tell myself it can't, it's just mental. It's just turkey right? In my head I tell myself it just doesn't matter I am not paying that much more for a turkey ( I didn't --we have a Meijer turkey),but man in my tummy I know the truth.

Why is it that when Jimmy Fallon asked fans to tweet funny stories to him about how our family is weird related to thanksgiving I laughed until my back hurt because I had so many I couldn't pick one? Isn't Thanksgiving supposed to be a warm, and cozy holiday not a laugh fest?

Why does my nearly ten year old have to be so inquisitive (and right)? Yesterday he asked me "Mom don't you think the Indians wished they hadn't showed the pilgrims how to eat a few years later when they started shooting them like that movie with wolves? (Dances with Wolves, he saw part of it on cable) HOW do you answer that one?!

And finally a link to the funniest PSA (that's a Public Service Announcement, mom!) I have ever seen. Perfect for any who may be married to a , um... "geek". (You know who you are!) The whole thing begets a giant... WHY?

Happy Wednesday!

Thankful Tuesday...

Today I am thankful for...

*that smiling face that wakes me up every morning, even when I am on muscle relaxers and can barely move but wants noting more than just to be with me.

* a husband who is off work to help me out with the kids, the house, and the schoolwork.

*friends who are amazing in their desire to help drive me and my kids around given our current lack of car predicament.

* the holiday weekend coming up, I am hoping to ignore my laundry list of impending crisis for just a few days.

I am trying to get a blog post together this morning, and frankly... its not easy. I am trying to give an update on us that doesn't include words like "accident" and "pain".

Wordless Weekend Post (nearly)

Charlotte got her little hands on the cake before it was even out of the box! Thankfully I caught her just as she got into the act.

Something to blog about...

Idea for today's blog taken from Jennifer at http://www.jennifersjoyride.blogspot.com/

Outside my window....
It's sunny, albeit it cold and the kids are running off the insane amount of extra energy they acquired at the Co-ops thanksgiving feast. Holy cow! It was a blast, but Molly is likely that we are off until after the holidays now -- she needs time for me to calm down before I consider taking her back. Oy.

I am thinking....
That I need a car, I am literally faced with something that requires driving every 20 minutes or so. It's getting a bit redundant on here I know but.. well it's getting a bit redundant to me too.

I am thankful for...
friends. Good friends. The kind that understand there is a time to be upset, and a time to be grateful, and a time to be bitter and ticked off. It might not be the most productive of feelings, but even bitterness and anger have their moments.

From the learning rooms..
We are about to begin a week long Hanukkah study, and then gear up for the Christmas Unit Study I put together myself. Wish us luck.. School was a really rough go this week.

From the kitchen....
I think I am in a rut. Mama is to sore to stand long enough to cook anything and Dad can simply only cook a handful of foods... But I AM looking forward to my own Thanksgiving FEAST next week.

I'm wearing...
Really -- this is humiliating to admit. a maternity tank top, a hoodie and some Michigan sweatpants and my Uggs. And yes... I left the house this way. What can I say to excuse myself? I am in pain, I am in pain, I am in pain...oh yes and I begged my husband to do some wash yesterday and he washed my jeans. Nice of him, however drying them would have been even nicer.

I'm creating...
a mental grocery list. I would rather not think about it though.. I don't know what is left in the till at this point. Ugh..

I'm going ....
to the doctor's office this afternoon. This sharp shooting pain in back is not right. Possibly to the pediatricians too -- Charlotte's never ending diaper rash is back -- AGAIN.

I'm reading ...
still working on Mouse and The Motorcycle with Samuel. I am reading through some curriculum guides right now too.. nothing interesting.. hoping to find the December issue of Family Fun when I am out later.

I'm hoping to...
have another vehicle ASAP-- of course I need car seats to but everything is moving in SUPER slow motion and it's not my thing. ;)

I'm hearing...
Luke and Molly arguing in the living room. I swear Luke has been such an enormous help to me this week, his sister on the other hand .. um .. let's just say NOT.

Around the house..
It's a wreck, Luke and I can barely keep it maintained when we are both on full steam. (and yes I said Luke and I he is my helper at large!) I am down to about 10% of my cleaning capacity and God love him he is trying to help -- if only I could get help from other ends. Oh yes.. and we have a party here tomorrow. lol..

One of my favorite things..
my homemade chicken and cheese ziti... we have been eating it once a week. I made the recipe up myself from stuff in the house one day and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it.

A picture, or rather a video for thought...
The Birthday Princess dancing with her new toy last night after she opened her gifts.. it sings and says her name. :)

A Very Happy Birthday to You!

I simply can NOT believe it, but today, my baby is one. One year ago today I held one of the most beautiful babies I had ever seen for the very first time, and nearly gave my poor Grandma a heart attack by announcing that her middle name was Gloria --after the very best Grandma I know. As we are known to say around here.. "Nobody's got nothin' on MY Charlotte"

While I could write a book about her birth, and my long quest for another "princess" baby I won't. I have more important "birthday stuffs" to do. -- Yes the cinnamon rolls are in the oven, I will even give her a piece without icing! So without further adieu, Charlotte, Princess, Lottie, Lotters, Moo, Butter --

Ten things I have learned about you!

1. You are a lover. You will cuddle with anyone, and anything -- even that darned cat. But you love mama the most, and even though I pretend to think it is equal to your daddy love, he knows better that daddy of yours. And so do I -- and I secretly love it!

2. You're a reader. You love a book, and you always have. You will listen to any story and look at the pictures, you like to turn the pages. You're favorites are Llama Llama, and Give a Little Love. You think you cow book is a riot. Dr. Seuss does not excite you yet.

3. You're SUCH a little mama. It's funny. You have loved a baby doll since before you could easily pick one up. You usually try to steal your sisters.

4. Speaking of siblings... you're favorite is Luke. But I won't tell your sister that if you don't. You love it when he rolls around the floor and hangs upside down from the couch just to entertain you. It makes NO sense to your mama -- but you think it's hysterical. He is to much a "cool guy" to admit it, but he LOVES to play with you.

5. You love cows. No matter how hard I tried to push for ponies, or cute little fairies. You like cows. Anything cow. It's kind of cute really -- every other animal is a "bear bear". In your world there are only cows, and bears.

6. You are your mama's daughter. You LOVE a walk. You LOVE to sit outside in the fresh air, but you aren't a big fan of actually getting dirty. (You didn't really like crawling in the grass, you were even less fond of the sand.) But you could sit in your stroller for hours.

7. You are a lover of music. No matter how many times I have told you I simply can NOT afford another dancer, you love to sway to the beat. You love commercial jingles, you learned early which toys play songs and how to make them do it. You love "I'm a little teapot" almost as much as the McDonalds filet-o-fish song. Almost.

8. You love to EAT. You must get that from your father, :) . You think cheerios, and smashed pumpkin is delectable. You also really love spagetti'os, but we'll keep that from your Daddy, because surely you are to young to have ever been given a taste of those. ;)

9. Remember when I said you were Mama's girl? I wasn't kidding -- You love shoes. You call them "soo soos". You have an opinion and when you find one you want to wear I had better cooperate. :) You think sunglasses are a great game. They make you giggle. I don't know if it's because they make you look like Mama, or you just think they are fun to look through.

10. You are you, my Charlotte, and you are the very best you that you could be.

In the words of Uncle Jessie (and if you are to young to remember Uncle Jessie - gasp! -- turn on Nick at Nite and get to know Full House.) "If every word I said, could make you laugh, I'd talk forever... If every song I sang could fill your heart with joy I'd sing forever.... " I love my sweet little Moo-Bear, my partner in crime, my cuddler in the night, and my giggle baby in the morning. My Mama's girl. Happy Birthday baby, and many, many more.

Day three

It's been three days since the accident. I can't even begin to think of a more catchy headline than that for this post. I have however decided I would like to start talking with politicians about just WHY Michigan is a no fault state. It seems to me the entire system is designed to screw those who can least afford it. Let's face it -- people carry plpd because they simply CAN NOT afford full coverage. And while I have always known it is the case -- when someone else is 100% at fault in an accident, especially when it was a foreseeable accident -- let's face it we all know messing with your phone while driving causes so called "accidents" -- it's totally crazy that he got to drive away from the accident and will never (nor will his insurance) ever have to pay a dime for the fact that they have left me, and my family, completely without a vehicle. Because of course I can no more afford to fix it then I could afford the full coverage.

Anyway, I am trying not to let the anger over power me today. Frankly I am to exhausted and to sore right now, and really -- I don't want to hear it from anyone about how wrong it was to be angry. Seriously I would like to see them in this position and not being angry.

Just when things seemed at the worst last night I started getting cold. And then shivering. And then sore. Yeah-- I had mastitis coming on. Have you ever had both whiplash and fever chills at the same time? I wouldn't recommend it. I still feel sick but seem to be doing better this morning. Let's hope it lasts. Because honestly, at this point it is ALMOST laughable.

Molly is likely to have to drop ballet - I know no one who can drive her on Wednesdays and it is the only day her class is offered. I have had to explain to the little boys that even though I have been promising them for WEEKS that we were gonna go to the big state Christmas light parade and see the giant state tree lit up that it is not going to happen. Had to tell Luke and Molly that they can't go see Harry Potter this weekend after all -- all because the movie theater is to far to walk. And sure, I know that in the long run those things are not important. My ability to go out and scour the racks for the "perfect" stuff to thrown Charlotte's first birthday party this week are not important, but they ARE important to me. It's how I show someone I care about them, It's like my love language, I do things for them, I take them places, it's how I work -- and now I face a holiday season when I can do none of that anymore, and it brings me to instant sobs and yes -- anger. We had promised Molly we would take her to the nutcracker -- not happening. I am not even sure how I am gonna see my family for the holidays since they all get together THERE and I am trapped HERE. And at a time when I probably need it most, I can't go to church. Because I have no way to get there, and my family takes up an entire van so it is not as though we can get a ride from someone. Which means I won't have been to church as a family in months by the time I get this taken care of. Ugh.

It's Tommorow....

*** WARNING: Blog vomit coming at you. Do not expect sunshine and rainbows in the following. Sometimes a blogger just needs to vent. ***

and while I am still thanking God every minute that we are all okay, it's less like singing praises today and more like something I have to keep reminding myself. "We are all okay and that is what counts, we are all okay and that is what counts, we are all okay and that is what counts..." it is not the easiest task under the sun.

Don't get me wrong -- we ARE all okay, and I AM eternally grateful for that. But the laundry list of other fallout from the accident is piling up and frankly -- it's overwhelming. And while, clearly, CLEARLY the other stuff is secondary to our health and safety, it doesn't make it not important. (So please, I beg of you... don't feel the need to point it out today.) The other stuff that has had me in tears today:

* The car, the car, the car, the car. Seriously -- the car. We only have one vehicle. Let me rephrase that -- we only HAD one vehicle. Without it, we are SOL. Jason has walked to work the last two days. No joke. I am physically unable to go ANYWHERE until we replace and/or repair it. Beyond the technical difficulty there, I am terribly independent and I LOATHE having to ask someone to take me somewhere -- I feel like I need to justify to the person why I need to go and I hate that. HATE it.

And frankly to be totally honest, I don't have any money to even START repairing/replacing the car. I mean NO money. I haven't made a huge secret on here of late that the last few years have REALLY taken a toll on us financially. We had been barely skating by, a disaster of minor proportions would have crippled us. This is not a minor disaster. This is a thousands of dollars disaster. And I don't even know where to begin trying to stand back up again. I can't even say honestly "well when taxes come back we can do something about it" -- that might be what it comes down to, because I can't see any other way of coming up with the funds, but that upsets me too. I already had a HUGE list of other things I desperately needed to do that had been on hold until tax time. I can't imagine having to wait another year on them. To further complicate things, taxes, my friends, are a LONG ways off. A LONG way off of not being able to run to the store without a helper.

Sp yeah..... I may have been sitting at the computer crying this morning because I can not find the style of car seat I want in stock in any actual store. And yes, I know it is not really important what color print your darned car seat is. But you know something? It WAS important to me. And some jerk who needed to use his phone to badly to pay attention to the road took away the seats I had. And YES I know it could have been so much worse. I know he could have hurt me, or worse the kids and instead we are just a little banged up trying to pick the least ugly of the ugly car seat options. But it doesn't mean I am not ANGRY that it happened. And I'm ALLOWED TO BE ANGRY. The jerk has left my day to day life a total mess and his car wasn't barely damaged. I guarantee right now he is out on his hunting trip having a grand time.

So yeah, that is where we stand on day 2 -- thankful that we were protected and safe, and ANGRY that the reality of the situation is rotten potatoes.

I serve an awesome God.

What was once my trunk.

At the risk of sounding redundant -- I will repeat myself. I serve an awesome God. And this morning, despite hurting in muscles I was previously unaware I had, I am thanking God that although he did not stop the jerk with the cell phone from ramming into the back of my van - obliterating the rear hatch, the brake lights and the back window -- he did send a Dr. t be the witness. A chiropractor no less. :)

Seriously though, to whomever you were mystery Dr who's name I can't recall and wife: You are amazing people, who were immensely helpful, and can't possibly thank you enough for myself, or Samuel.

To any who have missed this news until now, yesterday afternoon Samuel, Charlotte and I were headed to the outlet mall in Howell and were rear-ended just as we were leaving town. (For my Jackson peeps we were stopped at the light on 1-27 just pass the west ave interchange) When a man in a large truck, hauling a trailer was -- by his own admission-- to busy with his cell phone to look up in time to stop. I saw him coming in the rear view mirror, had time to register that he was not going to stop, and that was about it. The back end of the van is a mess. The window popped out. Both kids were immediately screaming and crying. I promptly had a massive panic attack.

Again, thank God for the Dr and his wife, who called 911 not once, but three times while we waited (and waited). Thank God for the car seats that protected both Samuel and Charlotte. They will have to be replaced ( Consider this your public service announcement: Car Seats mama's (and dada's) are good for ONE IMPACT and ONE IMPACT only, even if they "look" good.) When we took Charlotte's seat out of the van my seat fell backwards. (She sits behind the driver) Yeah. My body slamming back into the drivers seat had actually BROKE the seat but because she was sitting rear facing the seat had broke ON the back of her seat. Again, thank GOD for the car seats that protected my babies. Thank God for good friends, who on a cold relaxing Sunday afternoon are willing to meet you in the Emergency Room and help you try and get a shirt off over the neck brace so you don't have to cut it. :) Thank God for my mother, and my sister who come out and crack every toilet joke under the sun to distract Samuel when things hurt or were to much for a kindergartner. Thank God for my in laws who, like so many other times, can take the kids on a moment's notice and figure something out to do with them. Finally thank God for the countless prayers and well wishes. They were heard. I know that.

So today I sit in pain, wondering how Samuel is going to feel when he wakes up, and trying as hard as I can not to let my brain absorb the gravity of the car situation. (Because more panic attacks are not going to help.) The lack of car situation is probably a better word for it, I am altogether to terrified to start figuring out the cost to repair the back end, because I know full well we can't afford it. Of course, I also don't see any real alternative. The car seats will need replacing, my beloved pink stroller was in the trunk. I haven't yet attempted to check it out. Maybe tomorrow. Today, I am just thankful that I am here -- to type this, and the babies are sleeping soundly upstairs.

Wordless Weekend Post (almost)

These are actually from a few weekends ago -- our annual pumpkin patch trip.

Friday, November 12, 2010

All caught up.

Yeah, she's her mama's daughter!

So since the computer situation is now all a thing of the past I have spent the last few days catching up on ALL that back photography work. But I am proud to say -- as of this moment-- I am OFFICIALLY all caught up. And it feels great.

But in order to get something up here as we return to normal blogging I am stealing an idea from a friend (thanks Jennifer)

"Right Now" ......

Outside my window........ the sun is just coming up, the backyard needs to be picked up, and a very fat squirrel is climbing on the Little Tikes Slide. :)

I am thankful for...... a lot. But I guess at the front of my mind today is my kids (of course) but I am thankful for a husband who works so very hard to provide for us.

From the learning rooms.... School was rough going this week, the kids seemed to all have ants in their pants, but today we have Co-Op and I don't know who looks forward to it more, me or them. :)

From the kitchen... Wild Berry muffins are in the oven for breakfast, chicken is diced and ready in the fridge for chicken mac and cheese casserole for dinner. I need to stop for some asparagus too --- we had a request.

I am wearing... this hardly seems fair to answer prior to 8 am. lol.. Let's just say they are fleece and they're fabulous! ;)

I am creating.... the final "roster" so to speak for Christmas shopping and finalizing next week's Thanksgiving Unit Study.

I am going... to our good friends tomorrow to watch the Michigan Game (It feels great to have friends you can just hang out with!)

I am reading... Mouse and The Motorcylce with Samuel. I am re-reading Twilight as it was in the car and I was waiting for someone. :)

I am hoping... to take some more pictures soon. (Anyone want Christmas pics? Or family pics for Christmas cards? Let me know!) I like having a creative outlet.

I am hearing... the stupid ...er..I mean..." adorable" cat going crazy attacking a milk jug ring.

Around the house... laundry. Will it never end? I swear I don't want a maid just someone to come fold and put away the laundry.

On of my favorite things "right now".... crockpot Oatmeal. I could eat it everyday!

A few plans for the week..... maybe starting the Christmas nightmare (I mean the shopping!), church, maybe getting out with Jason to see a cheap movie.

Have a great weekend everyone!
